Updates from the work with the ELCA PNA Church Wide:
A nation wide steering committee has been developed this year. The Steering Committee for the National Association is made up of representatives from each of the 9 regions of the ELCA. (For Regions, see http://archive.elca.org/synods/regions.and.synods.html) We meet by conference call once a month and are working with Church Wide to encourage supporting one another and encourage networking. With the representation from each region, we are moving towards a great host of nurses that can even better promote the ministry of Parish Nursing.

Parish Nurses at the National Assembly!
The ELCA PN is going to be very active in the National Assembly in August in Minneapolis, MN. We will be visible with a Information table as well having a Comfort station. The comfort station will do some triage with the Paramedics, as well as use our gift of comfort for the whole person. If any parish nurse is going to be attending, contact Valborg Tollesfrud.

Save the date! November 12-13, 2009
The 1st ELCA PNA Retreat is being planned with the financial support of Thrivent for Lutherans. The retreat will be held in beautiful NW Wisconsin at Heartwood Conference Center. Rev. Jensen Seyenkulo from Church Wide will be with us and present on Thursday evening. Watch for more information!
